Back Pain Exercises Can Help Reduce Symptoms and Prevent Future Injuries

Back Pain Exercises Can Help Reduce Symptoms and Prevent Future Injuries

Back pain exercises can get you on track for a full recovery and they can even help you avoid future back injuries by building up the muscles around your spine and increasing flexibility. However, choosing the wrong exercises—or performing the right ones incorrectly—can result in serious damage to your back. That’s why you should always consult a doctor or physical therapist before undertaking an exercise regimen to relieve back pain. Your doctor can examine you, issue a proper diagnosis and help you choose some exercises to improve your condition.

These exercises may include:

  • Pelvic tilt
  • Piriformis stretch
  • Knee to chest
  • Spinal twist
  • Cat
  • Cobra

If these back pain exercises don’t ease your pain, your doctor may suggest taking some over-the-counter medication, visiting the chiropractor, or seeking some other type of additional care. If this course of conservative treatment doesn’t work for you, surgery may be suggested.  If you find yourself in this position, you may want consider treatment at Laser Spine Institute (LSI). We perform a variety of endoscopic procedures to treat several back ailments including sciatica, degenerative disc disease, bone spurs, bulging disc and more. Each of our procedures is gentle on the body as well as highly effective. More than 85% of our patients report having an increased quality of life within three months of their procedures.

If you suffer from a condition that results in impingement on spinal nerves and back pain exercises haven’t helped you achieve relief, contact LSI today. We’ll review your MRI or CT scan for free and let you know if we can help.
